Active COVID-19 cases in Alberta at two-month low

There are now just 679 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

That’s the fewest since March 30, according to Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health.

The number of COVID-19 recoveries in Alberta as of Wednesday has risen to 6,106.

Currently, 43 people are in hospital in Alberta due to COVID-19, four of them in intensive care.

Out of 3,168 new test results over the past 24 hours, 25 tests came back positive to bring Alberta’s overall total to 6,926.

Hinshaw reported two new deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing Alberta’s total to 141.

The number of cases in the Central zone remains at 99, which includes just two active cases.
