Lacombe’s Michener Park Campground to open June 1

May 15, 2020 | 8:59 AM

The City of Lacombe is advising residents that the anticipated opening date for the Michener Park Campground, with restrictions, is June 1, 2020. This date is subject to change based on guidance from the Alberta Government.

The City is currently accepting reservations by telephone at 403-782-2268 without requiring pre-payment or deposits. Debit and credit card payments will be accepted on arrival.

The campground will be available for self-contained camping – electrical hookups only – at 50 per cent capacity (18 stalls). A central water fill-station will be available and kept sanitized.

While the City is working on ways to feasibly operate the communal shower/washroom building to remain compliant with current COVID regulations, it remains unavailable at this time.

The RV sani-dump station adjacent to the campground is already open. Please be aware that the City is unable to keep the sani-dump sanitized against COVID-19, so users must exercise all necessary precautions.

Campers are reminded that while in the Michener Park Recreation Area, physical distancing is required to help limit the spread of the coronavirus. Families must stay at least two metres (six feet) from others when using campground amenities, going for a walk, or out in the community for groceries and other essential needs.
