Brazeau County opening two campgrounds with restrictions

In response to the province’s Relaunch Strategy, Brazeau County will allow two campgrounds to open in the coming weeks, while the rest remain delayed.

The Willey West campground and the Pih-to-kwe campground will both be permitted to open with restrictions in place on June 1.

Day visitors are prohibited, with campers permitted only in RV’s that have functioning water, shower, and septic systems – no tenting allowed.

Campgrounds will be at 50% capacity and group camping is prohibited. Playgrounds, washrooms, outhouses, and concessions will be closed, and remote check-in will be implemented.

People are also reminded to keep their distance and not gather in groups of more than 15.

The other County campgrounds, including Easyford Park, Modeste Creek, and Lodgepole campgrounds, Easyford Community Centre, Lindale Rodeo Grounds, Brazeau Sports Park, and Sardine Lake day-use area all remain closed until July 1.
