No new COVID-19 cases reported in Red Deer on Friday

Alberta is reporting 218 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total to 5573.

There have been a total of 2,359 recoveries in the province thus far.

In Red Deer, the number of COVID-19 cases remains 36, including six active and 30 recovered. The number of cases in the Central zone has increased by two for a total of 87.

The province is reporting three additional deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total to 92. All three were in continuing care facilities experiencing outbreaks. None were in the Central zone, which to date has seen just one death related to the virus.

Of these cases, there are currently 86 people in hospital, 22 of whom have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU).

699 cases are suspected of being community acquired.

There have been 145,420 people tested for COVID-19 and a total of 153,766 tests performed by the province’s lab. In the last 24 hours, 4,829 tests have been completed.
