Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will share his latest update on the federal government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

Trudeau is to speak during a news conference scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. MT. (Tuesday, April 28). You can watch the news conference below.

The federal government is going to release the latest projections for COVID-19 cases and deaths today.

That’s as the number of confirmed and presumptive cases nationwide closes in on 50,000, with more than 2,700 deaths.

MPs will hold a virtual meeting today and one of the first orders of business will be to pass legislation that provides financial support to post-secondary students.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says he’ll be pushing the government for specifics on how it will help provinces and territories as they slowly lift COVID-19 restrictions.
