More than 101,000 COVID-19 tests have now been completed in Alberta, while actual Albertans tested number 97,180.

The milestone is hit as Alberta reports four new deaths on Sunday bringing the provincial death toll to 55.

In the last 24 hours, another 241 cases have been declared giving Alberta 2,803 since the first case in early March.

There have also been 36 recoveries in the past day for a total of 1,198.

In Red Deer, there are no new cases today with the city sitting at 32. However, now just seven are active (-2) and 25 have recovered.

Central Zone, which has the fewest cases of any health zone in the province, remains at 76.

Despite the Central Zone’s lighter caseload, 8,978 people have been tested in the zone, 1,200 more than North Zone and almost 4,000 more than South Zone.

There are now 65 (+8) people in hospital and 16 (+2) in ICUs.

Of all cases, 488 are suspected to have been from community transmission, an increase of 88 since Friday.

To date, 307 cases have been identified at continuing care facilities, and 36 residents have died.
