The prime minister is expected to announce help today for an estimated 862,000 unemployed Canadians who won’t get help from employment insurance or the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.

Trudeau has repeatedly promised that more help is coming for anyone who has fallen through the cracks between the emergency aid programs announced so far.

Late yesterday, the government was still in talks with the opposition parties about the details of the wage subsidy program, which needs to be approved by Parliament.
