Habitat Red Deer ask residents not to illegally dump items
Habitat for Humanity Red Deer has temporarily closed its ReStore due to the COVID 19 pandemic to protect public health. But officials say that hasn’t stopped some people from dumping household items and other materials outside their locked gate.
“We need to remind all citizens that dumping of materials is illegal and is being monitored by video surveillance,” the organization says in a release. “When you dispose of materials in this way, not only are you littering, but you are causing additional cost for us to clean up and further hampering our charitable efforts to serve families in need.”
Habitat Red Deer says it will gladly accept donations once their store has re-opened and is fully operational. Until then, residents can visit habitatreddeer.ca for further updates.
“Please do your part and help us maintain a clean and healthy environment.”
