Central Alberta Pride Week postponed due to COVID-19
Central Alberta Pride Society has announced it is postponing festivities scheduled for its annual Pride Week this August.
The move is in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and advisories from all levels of government regarding mass gatherings.
“We know how important Pride is for people in the LGBTQ2 community,” said Lenny Gallant, Pride Society chair. “Because of this, we will be cautiously considering what Pride Week 2020 may look like. This will likely include significant changes to what previous years have looked like.”
Gallant adds that the Pride Society is optimistically planning to host community events later in the year, if restrictions have been lifted.
