Snowfall warning for Red Deer area
The special weather statement issued Monday morning for Red Deer and surrounding areas by Environment Canada has been changed a snowfall warning.
Affected areas include: City of Red Deer, Red Deer County, Lacombe County, County of Stettler, Ponoka County and Flagstaff County.
Meteorologists say heavy snow will begin this evening. Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected.
“Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions,” Environment Canada says. “A moisture-rich weather system will move across the province tonight. It is likely that this storm will produce significant snowfall over much of east-central Alberta.”
