Alberta MLAs to reconvene March 31

Members of Alberta’s Legislative Assembly will return to their desks this week in order to debate important legislation related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government House Leader Jason Nixon made the announcement late Friday.

“These are unprecedented and challenging times for Albertans, but our government is here to guide our province through the COVID-19 pandemic with a steady hand,” says Nixon.

“We will be reconvening the legislature in order to make further changes to legislation that will ensure we are protecting our most vulnerable and creating the conditions for Alberta’s economy to rebound after the worst of the pandemic is over.”

Nixon adds that the UCP is working with the opposition to ensure all MLAs remain healthy and can adhere to advice around social distancing.
