Stettler County establishing COVID-19 supports

Mar 19, 2020 | 9:43 AM

Steps are being taken throughout Stettler County to help residents and businesses in need of assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, the Stettler Regional Emergency Management Agency (SREMA) announced it is closely monitoring the situation and the effect it may have on social services and accessibility.

As a result, SREMA has developed the Community Resource Connection Form, which aims to connect residents needing some help, with the volunteers or individuals available for hire.

Officials say SREMA will establish connections for childcare, groceries and household essentials delivery, medication delivery, pet care and tutoring.

Elsewhere, in order to connect local businesses with emergency information and planning, the Stettler Board of Trade has launched the Business Resources Support Form.

The form will assess the assets of participating businesses and also measure the needs of these businesses resulting from ongoing emergency restrictions and regulations.

County officials say if you are in need of any of these services or are able to provide them, please complete the forms found on www.stettler.net or www.stettlercounty.ca.

You can also call the SREMA hotline at 403-742-7300. A representative will review your responses and contact you for further support.
