Rocky RCMP Report: March 12-16

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of March 12-16

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

March 12

1:30 P.M. – Theft of a Mongoose Mountain Bike stolen from a shed behind a residence in RMH.

2:27 P.M. – Police attended a residence in RMH and arrested an individual on outstanding arrest warrants. A firearm and ammunition were seized. Further charges laid against the male subject and a female who was also in the residence. Both have been remanded to appear in RMH Provincial Court the following week.

March 13

00:05 A.M. – Call of a female passed out in the girl’s washroom of a local RMH coffee shop. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released when sober.

1:01 A.M. – An adult male individual was arrested for Impaired Driving in RMH after being observed going through a stop sign. Breath samples provided well over the legal limit. Charges are pending.

5:26 A.M. – Residential intrusion alarm received on Range Road 8-2 & Twp Rd 37-4, Clearwater County. Police attended along with a neighbor as the owners were out of town. The culprit(s) gained entry via the front door and stole a gun safe, containing a bolt action .22LR rifle.

8:52 A.M. – 911 call of road rage incident in RMH. A female driver in a pickup truck passed a vehicle on slippery residential roads and then stopped in front of the complainant as she stopped to let off her kids at school. The suspect driver then yelled at the mother and called her numerous vulgar names, complaining she was driving below the speed limit. The matter is under investigation.

2:34 P.M. – B&E reported to rural residence on Range Road 8-4, Clearwater County. Gate lock was cut & property gone through.

2:34 P.M. – 911 call of a suspicious male in a backyard of a residence in RMH. Police attended and located a male who fled on foot when confronted. He ran through another backyard but was apprehended after a struggle. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia was found. Subject released when sober for a future court date. Charges pending.

8:52 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated adult male using drugs in the bathroom of a bar in RMH. Police attended and arrested the individual. He was released when sober.

March 15

7:17 A.M. – Report of a carjacking on the Sunchild Road. The driver was approached by 4 males wearing masks who forced him to stop and pointed a rifle at him and demanded his work vehicle. He exited his vehicle and the suspects drove away in the white FORD F350, leaving another pickup behind which had been reported stolen a few days prior. The FORD was reported abandoned on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve a few hours later. The investigation is continuing.

10:18 A.M. – Report of a garage broken into at a residence in RMH. Tool boxes were opened and various tools were stolen

10:22 A.M. – Report of locks broken off sea cans at a location in Clearwater County.

March 16

10:23 A.M. – Theft reported from a vehicle while parked at residence overnight. Headphones and change stolen.

11:34 A.M. – Shop and shed broken into overnight at a rural residence in the Caroline area on Range Road 6-3. Tools and a generator were stolen

11:48 P.M. – Complaint of a male calling the hospital several times, threatening to cough on hospital staff as he believed he had the Corona Virus and was going to come to the hospital. Police phoned the individual and advised him to call 811 if he felt sick but he got belligerent and hung up.
