Mar 18, 2020 | 8:28 PM

Red Deer County municipal buildings are now closed to the public in collaboration with the Government of Alberta’s updated response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Closures to the public include:

– Red Deer County Centre at 38106 Range Road 275

– All Red Deer County Community Services satellite offices

– All County Fire Stations

– Protective Services building Station 6 at 249 Clearview Drive

– Public access to the Agricultural Services building located to the rear of Red Deer County Centre

The County is working with the best practices set by Alberta Health Services including those strongly discouraging large gatherings of people and promoting social distancing. We realize that this is a challenging time, and residents may have additional questions. Staff are well prepared to deal with those questions and any other situations that may arise. Red Deer County will continue with our regular Council meeting on March 24, and will take the recommended precautions for public who wish to attend in person.

Residents should know that key municipal functions will continue in a safe and timely manner. This includes Emergency and Protective Services, Corporate Services such as billing and County communications, Operations Services including water and garbage collection, as well as Planning and Development Services. Continuity plans are in place to make sure the County’s business continues to function throughout the pandemic.

It is highly recommended that County residents and businesses adhere to the Province of Alberta’s guidance on COVID-19. The County is encouraging residents and business owners to access services in alternative ways – including online banking, emailed or telephoned requests, and information found at www.rdcounty.ca.
