Co-op to open gas bar, car wash at 32nd and Gaetz

Mar 10, 2020 | 7:01 AM

Central Alberta Co-op is taking over a prime piece of commercial property at one of Red Deer’s busiest intersections.

Co-op has acquired the long-time former home of Go Dodge (North West Motors), and more recently Go Auto, at the southeast corner of the Gaetz Avenue and 32 Street intersection with plans to build a new convenience store/gas bar and car wash.

The sale price for the transaction was not released.

The 3500 sq. ft. convenience store will offer a full refreshment counter, hot food, lotto and propane, Co-op says. The project will also consist of 10 gas pumps with both clear regular and diesel fuel along with a tunnel car wash.

“With the corner of Gaetz and 32nd being one of the best corners in Red Deer, Central Alberta Co-op looks forward to bringing this legacy project and the Co-op shield to the neighbourhood,” said Gerald Hiebert, CEO of Central Alberta Co-op.

“Being locally owned and operated, we are dedicated to being locally invested, community-minded and to offering lifetime membership benefits.”

The company did not say when the project is scheduled to be complete.
