Rocky RCMP Report Feb 27 – Mar 5

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of February 27 – March 5

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

February 27

4:03 P.M. – Abandoned side by side ATV located at a well site in Clearwater County. Investigation revealed that it had been stolen out of Red Deer last November. Owner contacted.

February 28

3:38 P.M. – Report of a 2 vehicle collision on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. One of the suspected drivers was located by police walking down the road, and was subsequently arrested. He was charged with numerous breaches on previous release conditions.

6:59 P.M. – Police stopped a vehicle on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve and subsequently arrested the male driver for “Impaired Driving.” He was brought back to the RCMP Detachment where he provided 2 breath samples over twice the legal limit. Charges are pending.

February 29

11:52 P.M. – An adult male arrested on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve after Methamphetamine was found in his possession and he had fled on foot from the police. He was also arrested for breaching previous release conditions.

March 1

1:50 A.M. – Police received a call of an intoxicated male who had entered a residence in RMH through an unlocked back door. He was found passed out on the kitchen floor and was arrested by police who brought him to the detachment where he was held until sober. He had thought the residence was his own.

2:48 A.M. – Call of a vehicle driving away from a local RMH gas station with the fuel nozzle still attached to the truck.

11:40 A.M. – B&E reported to a garage on SecHwy # 591. A Yardworks log splitter, and a Stihl chainsaw were stolen.

11:51 A.M. – A safe was found off of SecHwy #752. It was seized by police. Under investigation.

4:25 P.M. – 2 bottles of liquor reported stolen from a RMH liquor store by a female who fled in a blue Mitsubishi RVR along with the other occupants.

March 2

9:39 P.M. – Call of a drunk male at a RMH liquor store trying to steal a mickey of liquor and then yelling at an employee after she refused to give him money. The individual left prior to police arrival and disappeared into the night.

March 3

3:34 A.M. – Call of an intoxicated male throwing rocks at the windows of a residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

March 4

3:20 A.M. – Call of two intoxicated individuals passed out in the entrance of the RMH Hospital. Police attended and arrested the persons for public intoxication and they were released when they sobered up.

March 5

0900 A.M. – Call from RMH resident who advised that someone put something in her gas tank of her pickup truck while she was at work overnight. Unknown substance seen around fuel cap and now truck won’t start.
