Drayton Valley man facing charges after being caught in stolen vehicle

A Drayton Valley man is facing a list of charges after being arrested in a stolen vehicle in St. Albert.

On February 21, St. Albert RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle being seen in the Landmark Cinemas parking lot. The complainant said the vehicle had been stolen out of Westlock, Alberta in December 2019.

Officers located the vehicle and verified that it was indeed stolen. An adult male driver and a youth passenger in the vehicle were arrested without incident. A .303 calibre rifle and ammunition were also located in the vehicle.

The man, 24-year-old Riley Edward Jones Vader of Drayton Valley, is facing 5 charges, including possession of property obtained by crime less then or equal to $5000, possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in a motor vehicle, possession of an unauthorized restricted weapon, and operate a motor vehicle while prohibited.
