The City of Red Deer is recruiting for enumerators to carry out the 2020 municipal census.

Opportunities are available for enumerators to work in the field, going door-to-door, to count and collect basic information from people living in each household.

Those who apply should be at least 18 years of age, comfortable talking with people, have basic map reading skills, ability to use a tablet, willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and be available to work flexible hours, including daytime, evenings and weekends from April 14 to May 4.

Applications will only be accepted in person on the second floor, City Hall (4914 – 48 Avenue) between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on March 18, 19 and 20.

Those looking for more information about the Enumerator role are invited to attend one of three information sessions being hosted Mar. 11 at City Hall.

The morning session runs from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., the afternoon session 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., and evening session from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

City officials say the municipal census is an official count of the number of people living in the city of Red Deer. Information gathered during the census is used for City planning, and to ensure infrastructure projects, and City programs and services meet the needs of Red Deerians now and in the future.
