MEDICINE HAT, AB.- A day after fifteen members of the Medicine Hat organization Canadian Humanitarian were detained over allegations of practicing medicine without permission, the federal government says they are working togethers with Ethiopian officials.

In a statement, Global Affairs Canada tells CHAT NEWS Today that they are aware of the Canadian citizens detained in Ethiopia and are working to gather further details.

“We have raised this case directly with the government of Ethiopia and officials are in contact with local authorities to gather further information,” Natasha Nystrom, a spokesperson for Global Affairs Canada, said.

Thirteen of the fifteen members detained are believed to be Canadian.
