Town of Ponoka Photo Contest winners

PONOKA- The Town congratulates the following winners in our photo contest held earlier this winter.

Richard Bone who won first prize for his photo of the Ponoka Stampede fireworks and midway.

There was a tie for second place.

Congratulations to Jessica Jones for her photo of her son at the Ponoka Splash Park, and to the Ponoka Youth Centre for their photo of two youth in the pool at the Ponoka Aquaplex.

There was no third prize winner due to the second place tie.

The prize winners are being awarded gift bags that include Town of Ponoka gift certificates that can be applied toward a Town of Ponoka Aquaplex membership or for use at any Town recreational facility ($100 for first place; $75 for each second place winner).

Twenty-four photos were submitted in the contest.

The winning photos were selected by a three-member judges panel that based its decisions on the quality of photos and what the judges considered to be the photos that best showcased Ponoka’s beauty and hometown feel.
