Two females are in custody and a third suspect is on the lam after an alleged early morning break and enter on Feb. 18 in Rochon Sands.

RCMP responded just before 7:30 that morning to a cabin at Rochon Sands, an area on Buffalo Lake about 30 km northwest of Stettler. Local residents told police that a truck had crashed and that three suspects had fled from it.

Police Dog Services attended and successfully tracked two women to a garage where they were arrested without incident. An RCMP helicopter was also deployed to search for the suspects, though an unidentified male was not located.

The truck, which was stolen out of Red Deer the previous evening, contained various pieces of stolen property and was seized by police.

Tamara Lynn Phyllis Blair, 30, of Red Deer is charged with break and enter to a residence, possession of property obtained by crime, obstruct a police office and fail to comply with a condition of an undertaking. At the time of her arrest, Blair was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants out of Red Deer.

Amanda Ray Metro, 33, of Bentley is charged with break and enter to a residence, possession of property obtained by crime, fail to comply with a release order and fail to comply with a probation order (x2).

The two of them remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in a Stettler courtroom on Feb. 27.

Meantime, RCMP continue to investigate other thefts in Rochon Sands they believe to be related to this incident. They also continue to search for the male involved, who was dressed in blue jeans, a grey hoodie, and had a jacket with white lettering on the back.

Area residents are asked to check their home surveillance.
