Feb 24, 2020 | 8:42 AM

RED DEER- In preparation for the home improvement industry’s busiest season, Lowe’s Canada is looking to fill over 5,400 full-time and part-time seasonal and regular positions across Canada.

In Red Deer, Lowe’s is recruiting to fill over 15 seasonal positions and some 10 regular positions in its Lowe’s and RONA stores.

There are 22 positions to be filled at the Lowe’s Red Deer store and six openings at Rona Red Deer (North).

To officially kick off the spring hiring campaign, a National Hiring Day is being held on March 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in all Lowe’s, RONA, and Reno-Depot corporate stores.

Applicants are invited to visit their local store and meet the management teams. Some applicants may even get a job offer on the same day.

Available positions include Administrative Support Associates (in store), Drivers (class 1 and 3), Sales Associates, Receiving Clerks, Stockers, Customer Service Associates, Cashiers, and Lumber Yard Clerks.

Experience in the home improvement sector is not required for submitting an application since all new employees will have access to training and mentoring suited to the various positions. To accommodate student applicants, the hiring date for most seasonal jobs is flexible.

“Our seasonal employees play a vital role in our organization by supporting our stores during our industry’s peak months, from May to September, enabling us to provide the same exemplary level of customer service. We are seeking driven, dynamic, and customer-focused applicants to join our teams,” said Marc Macdonald, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources at Lowe’s Canada. “Applicants will find career opportunities with us that live up to their ambitions as well as plenty of avenues to develop their skills and deepen their knowledge.”
