Wildrose School Division proceeding with Regional Planning Study on Drayton Valley schools

Feb 21, 2020 | 1:08 PM

The Wildrose School Division will be moving ahead with a Regional Planning Study on Drayton Valley Schools.

In October 2019, the Board applied to Alberta Education for planning funds to conduct a survey on the Drayton Valley Schools.

The Board announced at their meeting on February 19 that they have been approved for the funds and will proceed with the planning study.

The study is set to begin this month and will be comprised of a tour of school facilities, a kick-off meeting, and a two-day planning session.

The School Division says the planning study will help them put forward the best solution in their capital plan submission regarding the future of schools in Drayton Valley.

Several key stakeholders have been invited to attend the planning sessions, including the Town of Drayton Valley, Brazeau County, Alberta Education, Alberta Infrastructure, parent council representatives, trustees, school principals, cost consultants, and architects.
