Parrington, Allen-Gullion named Olds College Broncos Athletes of the Week

Basketball standouts Landon Parrington and Michaela Allen-Gullion have been named A&W Broncos Athletes of the Week.

College officials say Landon Parrington was one of the few bright spots for the men’s basketball team on Friday night in a 128-67 loss to Lethbridge College. Continuing his solid play this semester, the second year forward had 21 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block in the loss.

The Saskatoon, SK native was able to follow that up with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Saturday matinee. The business management student-athlete physicality proved to be an issue for Lethbridge College and the Broncos were able to hang in, eventually losing 89-73 to the nationally ranked Kodiaks.

Meanwhile, women’s basketball student-athlete Michaela Allen-Gullion had a big weekend for the Olds College Broncos over the weekend.

The fifth-year hailing from Calgary, AB had 25 points, six rebounds and four assists in Friday’s tight 64-63 loss to Lethbridge College.
