RCMP are at the scene of a serious, multi-vehicle collision north of Sylvan Lake.

Mounties say the three-vehicle crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and Aspelund Road (Township Road 394).

“Travelers are recommended to avoid the area as traffic is congested and moving slowly. There is no access westbound on Aspelund Road from the intersection,” explains Alberta RCMP Corporal Laurel Scott.

A collision analyst is enroute and it is expected that the RCMP will remain on scene for several hours.

There’s no word yet on the number of people who’ve been injured or the extent of their injuries, though rdnewsNOW has confirmed one person was flown by STARS to hospital in Edmonton.
