A pair of basketball standouts have been named this week’s A&W Olds College Broncos Athletes of the Week.

Women’s basketball student-athlete Dani Earl had an outstanding weekend, coming up big for the Olds College Broncos who are dealing with some injuries on the team.

The rookie hailing from Winnipeg, MB had six points, one rebound and three assists on Friday.

The Sports Management student-athlete played an even bigger role on Saturday with 10 points, one rebound and four assists.

Meanwhile, Landon Parrington, a second year Bronco men’s basketball student-athlete, had a solid weekend in two losses to Medicine Hat College.

On Friday night in the first of a home double-header, the Business Administration student tallied 21 points and five rebounds. For the Broncos however, 28 turnovers cost them any chance to win and they ultimately fell 96-77.

In the return game on Saturday afternoon, the Saskatoon, SK native lit up the scoreboard with 30 points and six rebounds. The Broncos were able to keep it close, but their late charge came up short and they were defeated 86-72.

Honourable mentions this week go out to Jesse Jack (Women’s Hockey), and Avery Gammel (Women’s Volleyball).
