Murder charge laid after deadly domestic attack in Calgary

CALGARY- A Calgary man who faces a murder charge is accused of running down a woman with a vehicle after an argument.

Police say Melissa Rae Blommaert, 33, died of blunt force trauma in hospital.

She was found lying on a road by a passerby early Monday morning.

Investigators say the pair were fighting in the vehicle, she jumped out and was struck.

Ronald Candaele, 35, is charged with second-degree murder and is to appear in court on Thursday.
