This Monday, February 17 marks Family Day in Alberta, a holiday meant for people to spend time with their family.

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame is preparing for its busiest day of the year with their annual Family Day event. The hall will have fun things for everyone in the family, as well as snacks and beverages for all.

“It’s probably one of our more popular events throughout the year. We typically see up to 600 people come through the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame during that day,” said Patrick Teskey, Marketing and Communications Coordinator. “It’s just a perfect environment for families looking for something fun to do. It is affordable.”

Children can visit for free on Monday, while adults can get in for just five dollars.

“We have a bunch of family-friendly crafts, games, access to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, hot chocolate. It’s just all-around a fun opportunity for families to get out and enjoy the day at the Hall of Fame,” says Teskey.

Tim Horton’s will be at the event supplying Timbits and hot chocolate for visitors on Family Day.

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum provides visitors with an interactive experience learning about the history of sports in Alberta and the effect the province has had on the sporting world.

Monday’s events begin at 10 a.m. For more information, visit albertasportshall.ca.
