Rocky RCMP Report Jan 30-Feb 6

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of January 30-February 6.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

January 30

9:07 A.M. – Report of a wallet stolen out of a vehicle at a residence in RMH.

10:26 A.M. – Theft from an RV at a business in the RMH industrial area.

January 31

8:49 A.M. – Pairs of female and male boots stolen from the RMH pool.

10:00 P.M. – Police initiated a traffic stop on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. As a result of the investigation, a 30 year old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and has been charged with “Possessing a Controlled Substance(Meth) for the Purpose of Trafficking”, “Resisting Arrest”, “Obstruction”, “Possessing a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose”, “Failing to Comply with a Release Order”, and “Possession of Stolen Property.”

February 1

10:24 A.M. – B&E to garage overnight in RMH. BMX bike stolen.

5:56 P.M. – Report of a 2 vehicle head-on collision on SecHwy #761. Clearwater County. Police, EMS, and Fire attended the scene in which one of the drivers had left the scene on foot to a nearby residence. A local, 34 year old, male was arrested and escorted to the RCMP detachment where breath samples were obtained, well over twice the legal limit. Charges are pending and he was released to appear in RMH Provincial court in March. The driver of the other vehicle was taken by EMS to Rocky Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

10:38 P.M. – Vehicle stopped, on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve, with 3 occupants, two of whom had outstanding warrants for their arrest. The 19 year old male also has been charged with “Failing to Comply” with a previous release order and “Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking” after Methamphetamine was found in his shoe.

February 2

8:27 A.M. – Minivan stolen from RMH church parking lot. Recovered at apartment complex in town. A male suspect, who had outstanding warrants, was arrested at a nearby residence.

5:12 P.M. – Complaint of death threats received from a male on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. Warrants sought for his arrest.

7:34 P.M. – B&E reported at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Cash stolen. Under investigation.

February 4

4:37 A.M. – B&E to gas station store in RMH. Items in store damaged and other items stolen.

6:53 A.M. – Business and trailer broken into in the industrial area of RMH. Owner in process of taking inventory.

7:16 A.M. – B&E into bank in Caroline. Under investigation.

11:55 A.M. – Bottle of liquor stolen from RMH liquor store.

3:57 P.M. – Detached garage in RMH was reported broken into and rummaged through. A BMX bike, chainsaw, and other items stolen.

February 5

3:19 A.M. – Complaint of someone shooting off fireworks at a residence in RMH. Police attended and spoke to the homeowner and friend who were warned about the noise.

11:05 A.M. – Theft of a red 1998 DODGE Ram 1500 stolen from Leslieville. Later found by owner, with significant damage.

February 6

10:03 P.M. – Police located an insecure firearm and ammunition after stopping a vehicle on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Two adult males were arrested. Charges are pending.

10:46 A.M. – Report of a person attempting to deposit a forged cheque into an account of a local bank, using an online banking app. Under investigation.
