Charges stayed for man accused of sexually assaulting teen on Canada Day 2018
There has been a stay of proceedings in the case for a man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Red Deer on Canada Day 2018.
Darrien Francis Nepoose, 19, was charged with aggravated sexual assault in relation to the incident in which the victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in the incident the night before.
Police say the victim was known to the suspect, who was arrested July 2 at a north Red Deer residence on July 5.
A trial had been scheduled for Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench on Feb. 5, however Alberta Justice says there was stay of proceedings on Jan. 23.
