RSM Canada donates $31K to Tools for School

RSM Canada (“RSM”), the leading global provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on middle market businesses, was pleased to present the Central Alberta Women’s Outreach Society (CAWOS) Tools for School program with a cheque valued at $31,376 through the firm’s Volunteer Week and Birdies Fore Love charitable giving efforts for 2019.

The CAWOS Tools for School program collects and distributes school supplies to families across Central Alberta who have children in kindergarten to grade 12, who otherwise could not afford to purchase supplies.

“2019 was the first year we have participated in the Birdies Fore love fundraising effort and we are extremely proud of our RSM partners, employees, clients and friends of the firm who all participated,” said Rob Kolton, office market leader for Red Deer with RSM Canada. “In addition to exceeding our cash donation goal, nearly 100% of our employees and partners participated in the initiative.”

Mr. Kolton continued, “Stewardship is one of RSM’s core values and as a firm, we recognize the importance of giving back to our community, particularly to organizations like CAWOS, that benefit youth in the areas of education, hunger, housing and health. We are honoured to support them and the Tools for School program.”

“We are grateful for RSM’s support in helping us remove at least one barrier which prevents children and youth from successful learning and participation in school,” said Barb Barber, executive director at CAWOS. “We thank the partners and employees in RSM’s Red Deer office for selecting us as the charity of choice for their 2019 fundraising efforts.”

Birdies Fore Love is RSM’s charitable giving platform for The RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event, for which RSM is title sponsor. Through BFL, RSM’s people in the U.S. and Canada, supported with a matching donation from the RSM US Foundation, raised these funds for nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families.

Over the past 10 years, The RSM Classic has donated nearly US$17 million to help charities that support children and their families, with US$3.8 million being donated in 2019.
