MyBus transit app now available for download

MyBus, Red Deer Transit’s mobile website, is now available as an app.

MyBus gives users access to real-time schedules and transit information from their mobile devices.

“MyBus was launched last year as a mobile-friendly website, and today we are excited to make it available as an app for users,” said George Penny, Transit Manager. “Functioning the same as the mobile website, the app will enable users to find their stop, track buses, plan their route and receive service updates.”

The app is now available for download free of charge for both Apple and Android operating systems. Users can also continue to use the mobile website, available at mybus.reddeer.ca. The mobile site works on all mobile devices.

“MyBus gives transit riders the information they need at their fingertips, whether they are using the app or the mobile website,” said Penny. “By simply entering their location and destination, the program will provide step-by step navigation instructions, making our transit system easy for anyone to navigate.”

MyBus shows the entire length of a bus route overlaid onto a map and shows where each bus is along its route in real-time with GPS tracking.

The program displays the latest bus routes and schedules, as well as any service disruptions that may affect travel.

Users can also find stops closest to them, and plan their route.
