Drayton Valley RCMP report: Jan. 16 – Jan. 23

January 16

8:48 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant called to report their 2004 Red Ford F-350 was stolen sometime overnight.

11:52 am – Drayton valley – Complainant reporting an employee has defrauded the company.

3:33 pm – Area of Lodgepole – Complainant advised that they observed a vehicle traveling south on Hwy 620. The vehicle began fishtailing then spun into the ditch. Complainant took the driver to the hospital with undetermined injuries.

5:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a very loud argument in the apartment below. A lot of yelling and screaming. Members attended. Family dispute between mother and son.

9:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – 911 misdial. Member attended and confirmed no emergency.

January 17

12:24 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant calling to report a family dispute which resulted in their son leaving. Concerned for their welfare as it is cold out. Member located son and returned him home. Son angry at being placed on a curfew.

3:30 am – Drayton valley – 44 Street – Member on patrol observed a fire in a small camping trailer. Fire department called. Fire extinguished.

5:30 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting they received an alarm notification at son’s residence. Son not answering phone. Member attended residence, no one home, all secure. Complainant called back, son is safe in Okotoks at family member’s residence.

8:31 am – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Member attended to a residential alarm, appeared to be false.

10:08 am – Drayton valley – 50 Avenue – Fraud – Complainant advised that they gave out some personal information to someone over the phone.

11:21 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reported a female was sleeping in the furnace room. The now awake female was reportedly “out of her mind” likely on drugs. The 26-year-old female was lodged in cells until able to care for herself again.

12:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR83 – Complainant reported driving South, caught deep snow which pulled his SUV into the ditch. Damaged from striking trees.

2:09 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 500 – Complainant reported a deer ran from the ditch and into the backside of his truck.

3:35 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting the lights by the highway weren’t changing. Member contacted Carillion and advised.

4:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of an abandoned trailer on a lease site. Not stolen, likely occupied by squatters.

5:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported hitting a parked van. Member attended, collision caused by snow pile in roadway making driving past parked cars unsafe.

5:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a male refusing to leave an apartment building. Members attended, suspect had left after telling complainant to call the police. Patrols were negative.

5:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Members assisted in mediating a child custody dispute.

6:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male employee was being aggressive toward other employees, requested police attend a location in town as he planned to fire the employee and was worried the situation would escalate. Members attended, complainant didn’t arrive. Confirmed by phone call that everything was okay and the suspect was leaving.

8:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting slander on social media. Ex family member is saying bad things about them on Facebook.

11:44 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Members attended to a disturbance, determined complainant and her spouse’s family were having a dispute. Complainant was given a courtesy ride to her parents. Alcohol was a factor.

January 18

1:15 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Report of an impaired driver, leaving location soon. Vehicle is a Black GMC truck. Member attended, vehicle was gone, unable to locate driver.

2:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complaint of a dark red Chevrolet truck parked at gas pumps for an hour. Member attended, truck was gone.

9:10 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting assistance with having a mental health crisis. Member responded but determined the person had gone willingly to hospital with family.

9:20 am – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock – Member attended for an alarm in the auto shop. Determined to have been false.

10:20 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St alley – Complainant reported sliding into a car in the alley by 7/11. Both parties aware and reported.

11:34 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 39/22 – Members responded with Fire Dept and Ambulance to a two-vehicle collision. Westbound vehicle crossed into oncoming lane, Eastbound vehicle tried to avoid collision, both ended up in the South ditch after colliding. One driver taken to hospital.

1:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A St – open line 911, determined to be a phone line problem.

1:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported providing information including credit card number to a male claiming to be updating information for HealthLink. Complainant was advised to contact her bank and cancel the card involved.

7:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a distracted driver in a blue F-150 was texting and almost t-boned him. Complainant tried to speak to the other driver at McDonalds but he left on Hwy 22. Complainant provided licence plate number that didn’t match the described vehicle.

9:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – hangup 911 call from a hotel. Likely a misdial from a room as caller said “oops” and hung up.

9:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male shoplifted a bottle of liquor, had a machete and bat visible in his backpack. Members attended and located the male, who upon being told he was under arrest attempted to access a weapon and was not cooperative. The male ran but was chased and arrested. At time of writing, 30-year-old Aaron ROWAN of Drayton Valley is awaiting a bail hearing on 6 new charges

January 19

11:09 am – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male and younger female walking toward 7/11. Female screaming “help me” and threatening to harm herself. Complainant had heard mention of them going to a known drug house. Members patrolled the area including attending known drug houses but were unable to locate the male or female.

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported a car parked in his apartment parking lot in which he could see a female doing drugs. Members attended, driver and passenger provided valid ID and vehicle documentation, driver sober. No grounds for further investigation.

12:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male came to her workplace asking about her and telling stories about her. Issues related to an incident from a few weeks prior which is before the courts.

10:32 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a dark car. Vehicle is swerving all over the road. Patrols made, vehicle not located.

10:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report they had been receiving Facebook messages and friend requests from random profiles for about 6 weeks and wished to speak to a member regarding this. Member attended and spoke with the complainant and provided tips.

January 20

7:44 am – Drayton valley – 51 Street – Complainant calling to report possible impaired driver in a white 1-ton Sommerville truck. Occupants were observed drinking alcohol inside the vehicle. Member attended, open liquor observed in vehicle. Occupants were not in vehicle.

9:56 am – Brazeau county – RR 80 – Complainant calling to report an abandoned vehicle parked on the side of the road. Member attended, Registered Owner called. Owner is hunting.

10:10 am – Drayton valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting an abandoned bike in the alley. Member attended and seized bike.

10:31 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant advised that they were traveling east when they slid on the ice and collided with another vehicle.

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant advised that someone attempted to steal one of the vehicles in their lot. Window broken and door handles on Chevrolet Duramax were broken. Lock to the main fence was cut off.

12:38 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Complainant advised that they were driving westbound on Hwy 624 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with the driver side corner.

1:43 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant advised that while they were driving on Hwy 22, a Black Dodge came up quickly behind their vehicle and began following very closely. Both vehicles turned into the Coop Gas Station. Complainant confronted the driver and a lot of yelling took place.

2:37 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart – Complainant reporting their vehicle was hit in the parking lot.

3:18 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant was traveling east on Hwy 22 when a moose ran across the highway and collided with the front drivers side of their truck.

3:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant calling to report they found stolen property in the ditch. Complainant reports a roll of fibre optics on a wooden reel that belongs to Telus.

5:58 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver, weaving back and forth. Vehicle is a blue Ford truck with a topper on it. Vehicle not located.

7:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Center Court trailer court – Complainant reporting a disturbance in progress. Tenants are throwing signposts at the complainant who is trying to remove snow. Members attended. Parties separated.

7:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Known male is going through the commercial lots across from the trailer court. Male is wearing a baseball cap, blue jeans.

8:20 pm – Drayton valley – 55A Avenue – Complainant reporting neighbours fighting. Members attended. Parties separated.

9:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Center Court trailer court – Request to assist EMS with an uncooperative female. EMS had been called by a friend who stated that female had been acting strangely. Members attended.

9:09 pm – Drayton valley – 47 Street – Complainant called to request a wellbeing check on a male laying on a bench by an open field. Member attended, male had left. Patrols made, no one located.

January 21

2:23 am – Drayton valley – 46 Avenue – Member on patrol located a stolen vehicle. White 2004 Infiniti G35 stolen from Edmonton. Vehicle towed.

5:30 am – Drayton valley – Complainant reporting an assault in progress. Member attended and spoke to both parties. One female charged with assault.

8:50 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant called to report their Black 2013 Dodge Ram was broken into overnight. Charging cords and prescription sunglasses stolen.

10:52 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting that the door handle and ignition were broken on their 2003 Red ford F-150. All the contents have been moved around.

10:53 am – Drayton valley – 50 Street – False alarm at the Servus Plus Credit Union. Employee was working inside.

11:00 am – Brazeau county – Cynthia – Complainant reporting their Grey 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 was stolen from their residence.

11:58 am – Brazeau county – RR 81 – Complainant advised that they had a vehicle collision with a Bobcat that was working at the edge of their driveway.

2:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting they were backing up in a church parking lot when they became distracted and backed into a parked vehicle.

4:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report their white 2001 GMC Sierra was stolen from the parking lot.

5:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report two trucks were broken into while parked. Black 2019 Dodge Ram had driver side window broken, and a light brown Chevrolet Silverado had driver and passenger side windows broken.

7:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male is approaching vehicles asking people to deliver food to the trailer park as they are not supposed to go there. Members attended, male not located. The description matched that of known male.

7:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant would like members to assist them with getting their money back. Complainant paid $300 for a known female to stay at the Econorest untill the end of the month. Female left, and manager will not refund money. Member spoke with manager who advised they would return the remaining money to complainant.

January 22

3:25 am – Drayton Valley – Oil Country Taphouse – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot. Driver arrested for impaired driving.

7:51 am – Drayton valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a hit and run to their Blue Ford F-150 overnight while parked in a parking lot.

11:43 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting truck parts on the road. Member attended and removed debris off the road.

1:00 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting their dog was killed by another dog. Complainant let their dog out and a dog from across the street attacked and killed their dog.

1:04 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they were driving on Hwy 22 when they hit a deer.

1:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant calling to report their licence plate was stolen from their vehicle.

5:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted Break and Enter to their residence. Complainant saw an unknown male on their video surveillance trying to break into their house through the garage door. Male was wearing a blue jacket and had a bike and trailer with them. There was also a female.

5:35 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 North. – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a white Ford F-150 with “Bobdale” decal on side windows, cut off complainant. Driver is driving very aggressively, all over the road. Members were not in a position to intercept.

6:51 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Complainant observed headlights coming towards them and had to move onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.

10:31 pm – Drayton valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music. Member attended, no noise heard.

January 23

1:04 am – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer court – Complainant reporting their ex broke into their residence. Statement obtained.
