The AJHL’s Olds Grizzlys have announced the resignation of GM and Head Coach Joe Murphy, effective immediately.
“The Grizzlys thank Coach Murphy for his many contributions to our organization, his commitment to develop our players through character, skill development & compete, and we wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavours,” the club says in a tweet.
Pete deGraaf, a former coach with the Red Deer Vipers, has been appointed interim head coach while a search is conducted to permanently fill both roles.
The Grizzlys are currently second last in the AJHL’s south division with a record of 9-27-5.
