Doctor buried in avalanche dies of her injuries

BANFF- A 32-year-old woman buried in a slab avalanche while skiing in Banff National Park has died from her injuries.

Avalanche Canada says she deeply buried in the slide north of Lake Louise on Friday while skiing with two others who dug her out.

She was rushed to hospital in Calgary where she died the next day.

CBC News reports Canmore family doctor Laura Kosakoski had just skied her last run of the day when she was engulfed in the avalanche that ran for about 550 metres.
