Drayton Valley RCMP report: Jan. 2-Jan. 9

January 2

9:24 am – Brazeau county – Complainant called to report an abandoned van in a hayfield. Vehicle was burnt.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male dropped a box and bag on their lawn and then ran away. Member attended.

12:27 PM – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting an assault from October 2017.

12:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer court – Complainant reporting a suspicious female is kicking people’s garbage cans. Female picked up neighbour’s garbage bag and is now walking away with it. Member attended and located the known female who was taking a bag of bottles to the bottle depot.

1:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke into their Chevrolet 2500 truck and stole some change and an air compressor.

2:02 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft of their wallet sometime over the past two days.

2:59 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a semi-truck crossed the highway going very fast, almost hit complainant.

6:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unknown male came to the back door of the house and asked to use their phone. Male described as 40 – 50’s, 5’8” to 5’10”, grey hair, stocky build wearing a blue plaid coat and dark pants. Member conducted patrols in the area, male not located.

January 3

1:21 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Members on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Driver fled, however is known to police and several charges will be forthcoming.

5:32 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Request to assist EMS. Female took pills. Members attended, EMS not required.

6:19 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Request to assist EMS with an assaulted male. Members attended and spoke with all parties, did not wish charges.

7:00 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant called to report their vehicle had been broken into. Paperwork was stolen along with change.

10:37 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant called to request police arrest daughter’s boyfriend as they don’t like him.

11:27 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting someone used a Slim Jim to break into their Toyota Tacoma. Once inside they stole Canadian Tire money and a CD binder.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley – 55A Avenue – Complainant calling to report an unknown substance in a zip lock bag by the mailboxes. Member attended. Bag contained dog treats.

1:56 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting their garage was broken into sometime over the past few weeks. Business cheques and approximately $500 cash stolen. Suspects used the cheques for fraudulent purposes.

2:16 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report a downed stop sign. Ongoing issue. Temporary stop sign keeps getting blown over by the wind. Member attended, Sign was back in place.

6:16 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a Blue 2017 Dodge 1500. Vehicle had driven into the ditch and out of it again. Member attended, driver was heading to the hospital for a medical appointment.

8:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – 911 hang up call received. Ongoing issue as you need to dial 9 before calling.

8:41 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they need keys to their car. Dispute between 2 parties. One party left residence. Members attended, remaining party advised that they were slapped on the head. Did not wish charges.

9:06 PM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting that they observed a suspicious person looking in vehicles. Suspects were driving a black ford with a flat deck trailer. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

11:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver in a red 1991 GMC Truck. Male driver had been observed drinking from a bottle of whiskey. Member located vehicle and driver and conducted a traffic stop. Driver arrested and charged for impaired driving.

January 4

7:13 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Panic alarm received. Member attended, all doors secured. False alarm.

9:06 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting someone had forced their way into a utility trailer overnight. Nothing taken. Semi-truck stolen and recovered.

9:56 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft of their Black Dodge 4 x 4 overnight.

10:23 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a female dancing on the highway. Member attended and located female who was subsequently arrested on outstanding warrants.

11:59 am – Brazeau County – RR 70 – 911 call, open line. Ongoing issue.

12:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reporting someone is in the change room cleaning their nails with a knife. Male left prior to member arrival.

1:27 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting road rage between trucking company driver and an older grey Grand-Am. Member called driver who advised that the car had turned off, no further issues.

6:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hangup received from landline. Small child heard in the background. Member attended, child had accidentally dialed.

10:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a disturbance. Members attended, an argument had taken place, lots of yelling.

10:41 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – 911 call received in which the caller advised they needed the RCMP. Hung up. Members attended, no issues.

11:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Commercial alarm going off. Member attended and conducted a walk-through of the building. No damage and no persons located.

January 5

2:22 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Two males are intoxicated and fighting in the residence. Members attended. One male arrested and taken to RCMP detachment.

6:26 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a family dispute as a result of drugs. Members attended, parties separated.

7:42 pm – Brazeau County – While out on a call for service, members arrested a male who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

January 6

1:40 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant requesting members attend and keep the peace while they remove their belongings. Member attended residence, no belongings located.

3:35 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Male driver issued suspension, vehicle seized for 7 days, 30-day licence suspension.

1:39 PM – Drayton Valley – 44A Avenue – Complainant calling to report their truck was entered sometime overnight. Items stolen include two pairs of Oakley sunglasses, a gym bag, and some clothes.

2:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting a male previously banned from the store is inside. Has been asked to leave, however, he refuses. Male is asking people inside for money and rummaging through the garbage bin. Male left prior to members’ arrival. Patrols in area negative.

3:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a possible theft/fraud resulting from landlord/tenant issues.

3:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male earlier in the day. Male was in the furnace room. Ongoing issue with known male.

4:04 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft from lease site. Suspects broke the lock on the gate and entered the site. A 6-foot fiberglass ladder, 200L steel garbage can, and a fireproof garbage can stolen.

7:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting they hit a small dog. Dog was deceased and had no collar. Owner not located, animal control called. Dog taken to vet in an effort to locate owner.

7:56 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a black jeep Cherokee. Vehicle is swerving all over the road. Member contacted the Registered owner and advised them of the complaint and possible charges

8:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male is hanging around in the restroom and will not leave. Member attended, male had already left. Member located known male who matched description a short distance away. Male arrested on other matters.

January 7

7:49 am – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting someone entered their 2015 GMC 1500, contents rummaged through.

12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting mischief to dually welding/picker truck while parked in parking lot. Lugnuts were loosened, 1 tire missing.

12:58 pm – Tomahawk area – Complainant reporting a grey Chevrolet Trail Blazer is in the ditch abandoned. Member attended, vehicle is totaled. Registered owner contacted and advised police report must be made.

2:07 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant calling to report unwanted male who won’t leave. Members attended, located male who advised he was using the wifi to update his phone. Male left.

3:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting a woman is outside in the cold. Concerned they will freeze. Members attended, female arrested on outstanding warrants.

3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a fraud. Cheques were used to withdraw money from their account totaling approximately $3000. Complainant advised they did not wish anything done as they know who the suspect is.

4:55 pm – Drayton valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting an unwanted female at the library. Female is being loud and belligerent. Member attended and located known female leaving the library. Female advised not to return.

5:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting an abandoned blue GMC truck has been parked in the back alley for approximately one month. Member attended, registered owner contacted and advised to move the vehicle within 24 hours.

9:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a breach of a no-contact order. Ex is breaching order by continually calling them. Member obtained statement, charges will be forthcoming.

January 8

1:38 am – Tomahawk, RR 52 – Complainant reporting a vehicle in the ditch with one occupant. Member attended and spoke with occupant. No indication of impairment and no injuries. Driver advised a friend was on their way to pick him up.

2:47 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Commercial building alarm. Member attended, no breaches, false alarm.

5:27 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting company vehicle stolen. Complainant had left vehicle running and unlocked. Vehicle is a white 2015 F250 single cab longbox with “Prairie Mountain Oilfield Services” logos on both doors and a red slip tank in the box.

8:50 am – Drayton valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Complainant reporting theft from truck overnight. Wallet containing identification was taken.

10:09 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a breach of probation by ex.

10:58 am – Drayton Valley – Canadian Tire – Complainant calling to report a shoplifter in the store. Member attended and arrested male who was also charged with possession of Crystal Meth.

11:38 am – Drayton valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted fraud. Complainant advised that their computer had been hacked by someone who stated that they needed to buy security. Visa number provided. Fraudster called them back and stated that they were refunding their money and had deposited $11,000 into their account and requested they send $10,000 back immediately. No loss took place.

12:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant calling to report a breach of conditions. Complainant stated that their daughter and boyfriend are on conditions of no contact with each other, however, they are together.

3:37 pm – Drayton Valley – Dollar Tree parking lot – Complainant advising that there is a male walking around with a walker, looking very cold. Complainant was concerned. Member patrolled area, male not located.

5:22 pm – Brazeau county – RR 85 – Complainant calling to report they were working on a property today trimming trees and now the property owner will not let them leave. Members attended and spoke with all parties. Complainant was allowed to leave.

5:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from their 1998 GMC which had been parked on the street. Subwoofer, aux cord, adaptor, toolbox, and tools stolen.

9:23 pm – Drayton valley – 57 Avenue – Commercial alarm. Member attended, front door was not latched properly, building cleared, false alarm.

January 9

3:51 am – Drayton valley – 50 Street – Commercial alarm going off. Members attended, no sign of force, false alarm.

7:26 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their 2001 GMC one tonne welding rig was broken into overnight. Snowblower and receipts taken. Passenger side window broken.
