CALGARY- Oilsands producer Cenovus says it plans to reclaim 1500 of its abandoned oil wells in the next decade — most of them in Alberta.
Officials say that means returning the sites to the state they were in before the well was put in.
The announcement is part of 10-year environmental, social and governance targets announced by the Calgary-based energy producer.
They also include a promise to achieve “net zero” greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
