Changes coming to catering at Westerner Park

Jan 9, 2020 | 3:36 PM

Westerner Park says it is making an important change to its operations.

After thorough review and careful consideration, Westerner Park officials say the decision was made to pursue an outside partner to take over formal catering services.

The announcement comes after only one year of the organization taking over its catering operations on Jan. 1, 2019.

Officials say it was a tough decision to make, but was critical in ensuring Westerner Park customers and guests receive the experience they expect.

“At Westerner Park we can be hosting events that range well above 2,000 people to as small as a few dozen, where each may demand a catering service-level that can range from basic to premium,” says Mike Olesen, Chief Executive Officer, in a release. “It is key to our future success to source a catering partner that has the scale and ability to meet these varying needs.”

Officials add the organization plans to maintain and improve their catering offerings through this change, with both current and future event planners assured that their price and level of service will be honoured.

Westerner Park thanks their Catering department for their hard work and dedication to the organization.

Westerner Park will be inviting bids from businesses within the Central Alberta region to become their partner in delivering quality catering services to their guests.

A formal tendering process that will open on Jan. 20. Interested organizations can expect full details to be released at that time.
