Jan 7, 2020 | 9:53 PM

Arshdeep Bains scored in overtime to give the Red Deer Rebels a 6-5 road win over the Prince Albert Raiders Tuesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Jeremy Masella opened the scoring on the night for Prince Albert with 7:41 left to play in the first period.

The Rebels responded when Christoffer Sedoff snapped home a power play goal with 43.1 seconds left in the opening frame.

Spencer Moe scored 4:10 into period two for a 2-1 Raiders lead before Chris Douglas scored for the Rebels on a breakaway at 7:40 to even the score a second time.

Evan Herman gave the Raiders their third lead of the night at the 11:41 mark. This time, Red Deer waited until the third period, just 56 seconds into it, before tying the game yet again on Josh Tarzwell’s 19th goal of the season.

The Rebels took their first lead of the game when Arshdeep Bains cashed in his 14th goal of the year with 8:27 left to play. Just 45 seconds later, Ethan Sakowich snuck one home from a wide angle to make it 5-3 Red Deer.

But the Raiders pushed back hard and tied the game 5-5 on goals from Ilya Usau at 14:14 and Justin Nachbaur at 16:35.

In overtime, Bains scored his second goal of the night at the 2:45 mark to give Red Deer the win.

Ethan Anders got the call in net for the Rebels and made 30 saves to earn his first win since Nov. 9. Ironically, that win also came versus the Raiders in Prince Albert (3-2 score).

Raiders goaltender Keegan Karki, who came over in a trade from the Everett Silvertips on Friday night, surrendered six goals on 24 shots.

Forward Ben King had an outstanding night for the Rebels with four assists.

Both teams were 1-for-2 on the power play Tuesday night.

The Rebels are back in action Wednesday night when they visit the Saskatoon Blades (6 p.m. MT on 106.7 THE DRIVE).
