Two arrested after LPO assaulted Christmas Eve
Two men are facing charges after causing a disturbance and allegedly assaulting a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) at the Canadian Tire in south Red Deer on Christmas Eve.
RCMP say their investigation indicates at least one man was knocking things over and causing a disturbance at the store on the morning of Dec. 24 before allegedly assaulting an LPO who came to intervene.
Mounties say the suspect left the store in a vehicle, which was located a short time later by RCMP Traffic Services members near 49 Avenue and 46 Street downtown.
A 47-year-old man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, theft under $5000, mischief under $5000 and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
