Drayton Valley RCMP report: Dec. 19 – Dec. 27

December 19

8:36 am – Brazeau County – complainant reporting an injured deer on the road. Member attended and euthanized the deer.

9:39 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting female is sleeping in the lobby of the provincial building. Requests member to remove them. Member attended, female left.

12:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious blue newer Chevrolet truck. The complainant was walking yesterday and a male got out of the truck and followed the complainant for about 5 – 10 minutes on foot, then got back into the vehicle and left.

1:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Residential burglar alarm going off. Members attended and spoke with occupant who advised they were clearing snow on the property and accidentally tripped the alarm.

5:33 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 73 – Complainant reporting a black or dark green truck driving erratically. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located. Will be speaking with the registered owner of vehicle.

7:32 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Truck had been driving very slowly southbound on Range Road 91. Vehicle then stopped and shone a spotlight into the complainant’s residence. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

8:46 pm – Brazeau County – 911 call received, pocket dial. Members confirmed no emergency.

December 20

1:10 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 call received and abandoned. Background noise indicated there may be an issue. Members located male who stated everything was fine. Female heard yelling in background. Female intoxicated. No issues.

2:15 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Female from the above complaint called 911 stating they felt threatened. Members attended and the female was very intoxicated. Female stated that they felt uncomfortable with some guests they had brought home from the bar. They had left.

9:21 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting their PayPal account had been hacked. Account was canceled prior to any transactions.

11:47 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver. Vehicle was headed to Lloydminster.

5:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of monthly allowance cheque. Suspect is being violent. Members attended residence and observed both parties arguing outside with each other.

6:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – 911 hangup received. Member called number back and attended residence. Caller had chest pain, was afraid but declined medical assistance.

6:39 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 73 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a blue Chevrolet Equinox. Vehicle is speeding and all over the road. Members made patrols and vehicle located at residence. Member spoke with driver who was not impaired. Road conditions a factor.

8:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant requesting member attendance to assist with parenting their 12 and 14-year-old children. Both children were fighting and damaging property. Members attended and spoke with parent and children.

December 21

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible break and enter to business. Someone got out of a Hyundai Elantra and stepped over the barricade in the dealership parking lot. Now standing in the lot. Another pickup also there. Members attended, no break and enter. Cleaning staff on site.

3:11 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda vehicle. Driver was administered a roadside testing device which resulted in a Fail reading. Vehicle towed, 3-day suspension issued.

7:21 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their friend stole their cell phone and trashed their room. Complainant not making any sense. Members attended and spoke with complainant who was in a drug-induced psychosis.

10:33 am – Brazeau County – Range Road 73 – Member requested to attend airport to assist with traffic control as they are moving an aircraft down the road as a result of an emergency landing.

11:56 am – Drayton Valley – WalMart – Complainant reporting 2 known persons wearing all black and carrying backpacks are acting suspicious outside the store.

3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a 2 vehicle motor vehicle collision. Member attended, both vehicles were driveable. No injuries.

8:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Request to assist EMS with a possible drug overdose. Members attended. Person was fine. No sign of overdose.

10:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Member attended location, occupants were very belligerent with members. Would not cooperate.

December 22

2:07 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Members on patrol observed known males walking carrying beer and urinating on sidewalk. Males arrested for mischief.

7:13 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting male is at door breaching conditions of no contact. Members attended and spoke with the complainant. Fresh footprints were observed leading up to the residence in the snow. Complainant stated that male texted them.

9:17 am – Brazeau County – Range Road 70 – Numerous false 911 alarms have been received. Telus has been advised.

9:29 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting their husband is harassing them. Statement taken.

10:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting vandalism of vehicle overnight. 2017 GMC 1500 was broken into overnight. Drivers side back window broken. Christmas presents taken, clothes, Fitbit, binoculars.

12:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a single-vehicle rollover. No injuries. Member attended and took statements and photos. Road was icy at the time.

3:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in the post office. Wearing dark pants and a jacket and carrying a big black duffle bag and backpack. Member attended and located known male. Male left when requested to do so.

5:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a sexual assault that occurred out of thecountry.

6:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock High School – Commercial alarm. Determined to be false, contractors are on site.

7:20 pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP Detachment – Male walked into the police station to inquire if their phone had been found. Male had driven to the police station and was clearly intoxicated. 24-hour suspension issued.

9:30 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 90 – Complainant calling to report they located indecent photographs on daughter’s phone.

9:38 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Commercial alarm. Members attended, cleaning crew in attendance. False Alarm.

December 23

12:49 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reporting a suspicious male in a black sedan 4-door parked in front and then left walking towards the closed restaurant. Member attended and looked at restaurant as well as at the vehicle. Nothing noted.

4:11 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant calling to report two males sitting in the rear stairwell, possibly have knives. Members attended, males not located. Patrols made with negative results.

9:54 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of bicycle overnight. White Trek bike was chained up to the stairwell.

11:39 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting inappropriate contact.

5:22 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a dark coloured Ford truck is unable to maintain lane position and continues to cross over centre line.

December 24

1:14 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting they found a female in the woman’s washroom passed out. Members attended and located known female who was conscious and eating candy in the bathroom. Members provided a courtesy ride home.

8:37 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his van window smashed and items stolen from inside. Occurred overnight while parked in a hotel lot.

9:47 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported that overnight someone tried to enter his vehicle, door lock broken.

11:07 am – Drayton Valley – McKenzie Ave – Complainant reported vehicle broken into overnight. Still under investigation as bank cards used elsewhere.

11:28 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reported that someone entered their apartment storage unit and stole a Norco mountain bike. Unknown how entry was gained, under investigation.

12:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Wellbeing check requested on 14- year-old female, scared to be home. Members attended and determined mom and daughter had an argument, no safety concerns.

1:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Homecare nurse reported that her nursing bag was stolen out of her vehicle.

6:00 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant attended the detachment to report ending up in the ditch after trying to avoid a deer.

9:12 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Child welfare concern. Complainant concerned as her sister kept hanging up on her when she was trying to wish a Merry Christmas. Members attended, no concerns, the two children were already sleeping.

10:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Members responded to a business alarm. Premise secure and keyholder unable to be reached.

December 25

2:14 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Members responded to assist Fire Department with a possible apartment fire. Complainant had smelled smoke in the hall. Building checked, no fire located.

2:58 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a dog outside a unit at the Coach Motel.

12:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Econo Rest – Complainant reported someone trying to kick in her door. Members attended, second female sitting by door, claimed first female stole $100 from her. Complainant denied stealing money, second female sent on her way. Both known to police.

12:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Business alarm, no attendance as canceled.

6:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male shining a flashlight on his vehicle, thinks suspect thinks a female is at his apartment. Suspect left when complainant yelled at him. Female wasn’t at the apartment.

10:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complaint from wife that her husband is harassing her. Both parties spoken to and advice given. No offence committed.

December 26

7:41 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Motion alarm in bank vault. Member attended, bank secure, property representative advised.

9:59 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant requested police attend to help her move belongings. Member advised her that police didn’t provide such assistance and that separating assets was a matter for civil court.

11:22 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reported his wife, her sister and sister’s husband came and stole his dog. Complainant okay with them taking wife but not dog. Complainant sitting on the hood of their car. Parties are separated and were arguing over the dog. Members attended, dog to remain, for now, advice given.

4:16 pm – Brazeau County – Range Road 70 – Complainant concerned about multiple animals left outside by a neighbour who was away. Animal Control assisted, neighbour returned home from BC, a friend was supposed to take care of the animals but apparently didn’t.

7:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complaint of three persons loitering in bank ATM area. Members attended, suspects were gone.

9:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 7/11 – Staff reported a male had been in the store two hours, left when police called. Member attended, staff advised the male comes in often and makes customers uncomfortable. Suspect gone, staff told to call if he returns.

December 27

12:30 am – Tomahawk – Two 911 calls received from Doggone Salloon, member attended, no emergency, likely a phone line issue.

12:57 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle with two persons inside, parked in a motel lot for a half-hour. Member attended, vehicle was gone.

2:14 am – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Member on patrol located a male known to be on outstanding warrants. Male was arrested and is now facing an additional charge of possession of meth.

2:37 am – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported two females refusing to leave a gathering at his residence. Members attended, females had left. Complainant then reported that the two had returned and spray painted on his truck. Still under investigation with charges pending.

3:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two pieces of heavy equipment on fire at a business. Member attended with Fire Department. Still under investigation.

4:05 am – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Member responded to an alarm with multiple hits to a door. Premise found secure, no signs of entry.
