Best friends explore kitchen art in Kiwanis Gallery exhibit
Susan Barker and Issy Covey are a dynamic duo and have been friends for over thirty years.
As such, when Sue proposed a joint exhibit to Issy, they both agreed that the theme of kitchen art would serve their respective painting and ceramic work, well!
They have been creating their artwork in the kitchen, the heart of the home, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. Working in their kitchens inspired both artists to create ‘kitchen’ art about the place they work. And what better place to create food and kitchen art than where they work! The artwork is immediately available as they walk past and check on the clay or add a few brush loads of paint, then carry on with daily life or continue to work on their pieces throughout the day.
