Canyon Ski Resort opens for season this weekend

Canyon Ski Area east of Red Deer opening their runs to skiers and snowboarders this Saturday (Nov. 16).

They had been hoping to open up for the season on Monday until warm weather brought their snow making efforts to a halt.

Canyon will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with their magic carpet and triple chair open to the top of the hill.

Last year they opened for the season on Nov. 8, the earliest in their year history.

Canyon Ski Resort is Alberta’s Largest Non-Mountain family ski area with 23 runs and six lifts on 80 acres of skiable terrain.
