Community Meals No More
Community meals coming to an end

A three-year-old tradition in Drayton Valley will be coming to an end this year. The Town’s monthly community dinners will no longer be held after December.
The dinners are served on the third Tuesday of every month and were first launched in January 2017 as an initiative to bring people together after the economic downturn.
The meals are sponsored by local businesses and agencies and have consistently grown in popularity, with last month’s dinner serving about 350 people, including seniors and families.
With the meals put on largely by volunteers from Family and Community Support Services, it takes a lot to coordinate the project, and volunteer members have said there are currently no plans to run the community meals in 2020.
