Rocky RCMP Report: Oct. 10-17

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of October 18-24, 2019.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

October 18

9:43 A.M. – Reported theft at an oilfield site. 8 batteries, cables, modems were stolen and a solar panel was pushed over. Damage estimated at $10,000

10:03 A.M. – After receiving a report of a B&E to a Ponoka car dealership in which a vehicle was stolen, Rocky RCMP were able to recover the vehicle in Caroline after receiving updates from OnStar. An adult male from the Red Deer area was arrested. A loaded firearm and methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle. He was released on cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court at the end of the month.

10:31 A.M. – Report of an assault on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Under investigation.

10:12 P.M. – Report of a vehicle fire at a lease site in Clearwater County. Police attended along with Clearwater Fire. The vehicle had been stolen from a property in Ponoka.

October 19

1:48 P.M. – Report of an assault, threats, and forcible confinement with weapons at a residence in RMH. Police located the suspect at another residence and arrested an adult male who is facing numerous charges. The investigation is continuing.

12:06 P.M. – Theft of a licence plate from a RMH business.

2:39 P.M. – Door kicked in to cabin in Nordegg over the last few weeks. Alcohol, a TV, and other items were stolen.

6:56 P.M. – Report of a window shot several times with a BB gun at a residence in RMH.

10:49 P.M. – Report of a white Honda Accord stolen from a Rocky convenience store, while idling at the gas pump. Vehicle recovered at a lease site a few hours later, west of town, after a report of a vehicle fire at that location.

October 20

8:22 A.M. – White Dodge Ram 2500, with a beige topper, stolen overnight from a residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

1:16 P.M. – B&E to residence on Sec. Hwy #598. A firearm was stolen along with a white 2013 CHEVROLET Silverado.

October 21

9:44 A.M. – 911 call to assist EMS with an individual who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to the hospital while police arrested an adult female who was remanded in custody for a later court date.

9:48 A.M. – Complaint of telephone fraud in which a phone scammer claimed to be from a credit card company & requested $2000 worth of Google play cards.

11:03 A.M. – 2006 camo Yamaha 450 Quad stolen from the Nordegg River area.

11:25 A.M. – Report of a cabin broken into at Crimson Lake. Door damaged and binoculars were stolen.

12:24 P.M. – B&E reported to residence on Range Road 4-1 & Twp Rd 38-0, Clearwater County, after home owner had left for a few hours. Back door kicked in. Under investigation

3:09 P.M. – 2005 North River 21 foot jet boat stolen, along with a grey North River trailer (Alberta licence plate X45736), from a residence on Twp Rd 39-5 & Range Road 4-2, Clearwater County.

4:01 P.M. – 2015 light brown Tracer 2850 holiday trailer (Alberta licence plate 4CU498) stolen from the Withrow area in the last week.

October 22

00:59 A.M. – While on patrol police observed an erratic driver on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. The vehicle was stopped and the adult driver was arrested for Impaired Driving. He provided breath samples over the legal limit & charges are pending, including for having no insurance on the vehicle and having a suspended driver’s licence.

10:45 A.M. – 2 holiday trailers vandalized at residence in the Caroline area.

1:43 A.M. – Fence vandalized at a residence in Caroline. A vulgar word was written with orange spray paint.

5:30 P.M. – 2002 silver Chevrolet Impala stolen from Leslieville Hotel over the last week. A piece of the front bumper is missing and the grill is cracked.

6:00 P.M. – Lock cut off gate at residence on Range Road 4-5 & Twp Rd 38-2, Clearwater County.

October 23

5:06 A.M. – Pedestrian Hit & Run reported on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. EMS and police attended. Victim taken to Rocky hospital. Under investigation

11:19 A.M. – Burnt out Dodge pickup truck found on Range Road 7-0, Clearwater County.

October 24

7:00 A.M. – 911 call of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on SecHwy #598. All the occupants were seen fleeing from the scene. They were all apprehended a short time later. Investigation revealed that the truck had been stolen. Charges pending
