Canadian students elect Liberal minority in mock vote

More than 1.1 million students across Canada students agreed with the greater electorate on who should lead the country.

Through the 2019 Student Vote Canada run by CIVIX and Elections Canada, students elected a Liberal minority.

However, the winning Liberals took just 110 seats (22.3% of the popular vote) in the student vote as opposed to the 156 (as of 10 p.m. MT) they were projected to win in the actual election (33% popular vote).

The NDP, meanwhile, won the second most seats at 99 (24.8% popular vote).
