Infant left alone in vehicle, Edmonton couple charged

EDMONTON- An Edmonton couple is facing child abandonment charges after a baby was discovered alone in a vehicle parked outside a casino.

Police say officers were sent to a gambling club in the city’s southeast on Monday night to follow up on a complaint.

They were told casino security staff had found a baby about 18-months-old in a vehicle, and were able to get the cold child out because the windows had been left three-quarters open.

Investigators believe the toddler had been in the vehicle for about an hour.

Police say the child’s parents were found inside the casino.
