Rocky RCMP Report: Sept. 19-26

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of September 19-26, 2019.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

September 19

12:08 P.M. – Attempted theft of a goat from a farm on township road 38-4 & Range Road 52-0, Clearwater County. A male in an older dark colored Dodge pickup was seen pulled over on the side of the road. He then he jumped in the goat pen and unsuccessfully tried to catch a goat before fleeing in the vehicle.

12:37 P.M. – A licence plate was stolen from a residence in Rocky Mountain House.

6:16 P.M. – An assault was reported on Sunchild First Nation Reserve. Under investigation.

September 20

2:00 A.M. – Police stopped a vehicle, with a burnt out headlight, in RMH. The adult female driver, from the Red Deer area, gave a false name and was subsequently arrested for “obstruction” and having outstanding warrants for her arrest. Drug paraphernalia was located along with a large amount of methamphetamine. Charges are pending against the driver and the female passenger included for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and breaching recognizances.

2:01 A.M. – A silver 2017 DodgeRam was stolen from residence on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

4:13 A.M. – Police conducted a traffic stop in Rocky. Two adult males, one of whom had outstanding warrants, were subsequently arrested for “Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking” of methamphetamine. Various weapons were also seized. Charges before the courts.

5:27 A.M. – Report from a St. Albert man who advised that he lost his firearm after his canoe tipped on the North Saskatchewan River. Canoe also lost downstream.

3:28 P.M. – Stolen vehicle from Blackfalds recovered on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

4:44 P.M. – 911 call of a disturbance between family members on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested one very intoxicated individual and lodged him in cells until sober.

6:42 P.M. – B&E to a 5th wheel trailer in RMH. Cash, clothing, and a safe were stolen.

September 21

9:43 A.M. – Theft of a 2006 white Chevrolet Silverado (Alberta licence plate CDB2372), belonging to the Lord’s Foodbank, stolen from behind the foodbank overnight.

11:05 A.M. – Attempted theft of a dirt bike overnight from the back of a pickup truck at a Rocky residence.

10:15 P.M. – Report of a male banging on the glass windows of a Rocky strip mall, smashing one window of a local restaurant. The male, along with a female subject, were then reported at a convenience store where they stole some food. Both intoxicated individuals were located and arrested at the hospital.

11:31 P.M. – Report of two males throwing rocks at vehicles in Caroline. Under investigation.

September 22

2:43 A.M. – Report of an intoxicated driver in the drive-thru of a Rocky restaurant. Police attended and arrested the driver who provided breath samples over the legal limit. Charges pending.

2:38 P.M. – Vandalism reported to O’Chiese Community Center overnight.

September 23

6:15 A.M. – Call of a B&E to a residence in Rocky. A guitar was stolen

10:04 A.M. – Complaint of road rage in which a driver was cut off by another vehicle which blew through a stop sign on Highway 11. The driver of the offending vehicle then pulled over and threatened the complainant with a weapon.

2:44 P.M. – Theft of 2006 dark green Bombardier Outlander stolen from a barn at an RV Park on Sec. Hwy #591.

8:55 P.M. – Theft of liquor from a store in Nordegg. Under investigation

9:24 P.M. – Complaint of a fraudulent credit card which was used to order $142 worth of food from a local restaurant. Under investigation.

September 24

7:19 A.M. – Theft of fuel from a property on Range Road 4-3 & Twp Rd 36-5, Clearwater County. Occupants in a newer white hatchback car broke the lock off the fuel tank and were last seen southbound.

10:11 A.M. – Batteries stolen and cables cut at a work site on Sec. Hwy #752.

12:45 P.M. – B&E to a rural residence on township road 37-2A, east of Butte Hill, Clearwater County. Door kicked in and numerous items stolen including computers and firearms. Under investigation.

1:24 P.M. – Chains and locks cut in the area of the Caroline Community Center / Arena complex.
