“Best Soup in the City Cook-off” contest supporting The Mustard Seed

RED DEER- The Mustard Seed will be hosting Bowls for Bellies, a unique and exciting event for the “Best Soup in the City Cook-off” on Sunday, September 29.

Joining the event will be 15 restaurants from Red Deer’s locally owned restaurants which will serve their favourite soup recipes in support of a great cause.

There will be live music, door prizes, and soup bowls designed by Red Deer students.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting The Mustard Seed’s school lunch and hot meal programs; the school lunch program provides over 56,000 lunches annually to students in 32 Red Deer schools.

“We are so thankful for the awareness that an event like Bowls for Bellies brings to our work, and for the opportunity to engage and partner with so many supporting businesses, restaurants, and community groups.” says Byron Bradley, Managing Director of The Mustard Seed Red Deer.

The 15 restaurants include: The Hideout, ABC Country Restaurant, Bo’s Bar and Grill, The Hybrid, OJ’s, State and Main, Elephant Castle, Meeting Waters, Sweet Capone’s, Famosa, Westlake Grill / Heritage Ranch, Stem’s Café, Las Pameras, Brown’s Social House and La Casa Pergola.
