WWE’s ‘Sassy Southern Belle’ has run-in with Mountie near Edmonton

Jacques Rougeau was nowhere to be found, but WWE’s Lacey Evans did get stopped by a member of the RCMP for speeding on Saturday morning.

Evans, a former US Marine and real name Macey Estrella-Kadlec, was on her way up the QEII for a WWE show in Edmonton Saturday night. The company held a show in Calgary on Friday.

In a tweet, Evans posted a video of the traffic stop conducted by an officer with Leduc RCMP Traffic Services, and let’s just say she was anything but classy. As of 2 p.m. Sunday, the video has nearly 500,000 views.

Evans’ gimmick in WWE is known for calling people ‘nasties’ and ‘classless,’ and was clearly in character whilst being given a ticket. In the video, Evans can be heard berating the officer, asking him, “Do you know who I am?”

The member says, “Sorry ma’am, no I don’t.”

“Canada is terrible,” she responds.

“Welcome to Edmonton,” the member adds with a smile.

According to Alberta RCMP Cpl. Chris Warren, “The stop in question was a legitimate traffic stop. Cooperation is always key, but this is just a traffic officer doing his job.”

So no, it appears the member wasn’t in on it. It isn’t known how much the ticket is for.

To make matters worse for Evans, she lost her match against Calgary’s own Natalya (Neidhart) at Rogers Place Saturday night.

UPDATE (Monday, Sept. 23): Lacey Evans tweeted a response to the incident on Monday morning.

RCMP also issued an updated statement Monday afternoon stating the following:

“Following the issuing of the ticket, the female motorist engaged in a courteous and polite conversation with the member where the motorist identified herself as a sports entertainer with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She asked the member if he would participate in a rehearsed interaction on camera with her WWE persona. The member obliged.”
